SCS is looking for a Technician to assist project managers in various project types, including solid waste, electric utility, and environmental management. This individual should follow regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, and SCS protocols, exercise independent judgement and be able to complete tasks and projects with direction from management and provided training. Conduct assignments in an office setting and perform field work. This individual will be in the field at least 80% of the time with local or overnight travel, and this individual will report to our Madison, Wisconsin office on-site when not traveling.
Perform construction observation and documentation, including construction material sample collection, laboratory data management, and surveying, while ensuring compliance with construction documents. Travel is expected.
Prepare and submit daily field logs reporting data collected, field observations, actions taken, and recommended actions to be taken.
Report field conditions and test results to your supervisor and, at times, directly to the client.scsengineers.com+3scsengineers.com+3scsengineers.com+3
Conduct sampling and/or monitoring of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, air, geosynthetics, landfill gas, and leachate.
Coordinate work with contractors, subcontractors, and laboratories to ensure seamless project execution.
Maintain sampling and monitoring equipment, including regular maintenance, inventory, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Prepare documentation reports for construction activities observed, health & safety plans, and other work documents.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Completion of (or willingness to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.
