What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for a Project Professional for our Atlanta office which is located in Duluth, GA. 

How you can make an impact

Perform project task oversight, detailed design, and support calculations, modeling, and preparation of engineering plans and technical specifications. Train and mentor junior staff on engineering principles, design, modeling, and calculations. Maintain liaison with clients, regulators, and stake holders. Develop and prepare permit applications and supporting documents for solid waste facilities. Research existing permits, facility documentation, and review and apply state and federal rules and laws to solid waste facilities. Design solid waste facilities, perform engineering calculations, including modeling of leachate head on the liner, leachate pipe sizing, sizing of geosynthetics, and perform slope stability modeling, prepare permit level and construction level plan drawings, and prepare technical specifications. Design and perform calculations for stormwater management systems at landfills including runoff calculations, pipe sizing, and site wide surface water management system. Design and perform calculations for landfill gas collection and control systems. Review and redline plan drawings prepared by drafters. Perform and lead technical tasks for field work, data collection, construction, and design. Review of shop drawings and technical submittals from contractors during construction projects and evaluate submittals based on construction drawings and technical specifications. Provide project and task management activities including preparing project management plans, health and safety plans, and review subcontractor invoices, review project invoices, and review of scope, schedule and budget to track progress on projects. Perform construction field inspections and prepare field reports to document work. Delegate and oversee engineering work assigned to junior engineers. Utilize AutoCAD software to draft 2D features and details, cut profiles, and cross sections; perform track project time-lines, resources, and budgets; produce detailed and clear technical reports, including environmental impact assessments, compliance documentation, and project proposals; and run slope stability models software, HELP Model for Leachate modeling and Stormwater modeling using software.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; 4 years of experience preparing design documents for landfill and landfill gas systems, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and permit requirements; 3 years of experience utilizing AutoCAD software to draft 2D features and details, cut profiles, and cross sections; 3 years of experience performing track project time-lines, resources, and budgets; 3 years of experience producing detailed and clear technical reports, including environmental impact assessments, compliance documentation, and project proposals; and 2 years of experience running slope stability models software, HELP Model for Leachate modeling and Stormwater modeling using software. Remote work available up to 2 days per week at employer discretion, must live within commuting distance of office location.

Pay Range

USD $120,307.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
