What we are looking for

SCS is looking for a Plant Operator who will work at an gas power plant. This person will be responsible for the technical performance and reporting requirements of the plant facility. This position may also perform the duties of a Plant Supervisor when required, scheduled to work standard working hours and on call 24/7. 

How you can make an impact

  • Supervise, direct, and manage plant operations while ensuring plant efficiency, compliance, and safety.
  • Assist with managing, directing, and organizing operations staff in accordance with project scopes, schedules, budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Assists Operations Manager to achieve revenue growth and profitability for the O&M, consistent with business plans.
  • Works with Plant Managers/Operators, Project Superintendents, and/or other personnel to implement and perform SCS Energy O&M and construction projects giving appropriate consideration to:
    • scope, schedule, productivity, budget, contract, and change orders;
    • subcontracting and material procurement;
    • staffing and oversight of field activities;
    • QA/QC, record keeping, photo records, reporting, data analysis (if applicable), and file maintenance (contract and project);
    • health and safety and safety equipment calibration logs/records; and
    • regulatory agency and client liaison.
  • Responsible for the reporting requirements of assigned plants which includes developing and submitting monthly reporting data.
  • Reviews and approves site production reports, and maintains master maintenance schedule.
  • Responsible for the technical performance of assigned plants.
  • Conduct plant operation and maintenance as needed.
  • Propose and implement corrective solutions when operational deficiencies are identified.
  • Assist with complex troubleshooting and facility repairs.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of mechanical plant operations or similiar experience required. 
  • Advanced technical skills related to mechanical and electrical equipment operation and maintenance.
  • 40 hour Health & Safety, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120, Confined Space Entry, and Trench Excavation Safety training; high school diploma preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical plans and specifications.
  • Meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck), walking inspection of improved and unimproved property, lifting and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), carrying and climbing ladders, operating electrical tools (drills, saws, etc.), using hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.) and providing services under varying weather conditions. Pay Range

USD $30.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr.
